HMMM, A LITTLE ABOUT US:
​
The Great EsCake was founded by me, Gausia Ebrahim. I am a qualified chef that was lucky enough to have gotten the chance to work around in restaurants, bakeries etc. from the age of 17.
​
WHAT MADE ME LEAVE THE RESTAURANT INDUSTRY?
​
As much as it was fun and boy did I learn A LOT! I however always felt like I couldn't fully put myself out there creatively. As I continued working I realized more and more that I had a completely different vision from just attending to dockets and receipts and the "YES CHEF!". So one day without giving it a second thought I decided to quit my job and just go for it. That is how the start of my dream and vision started coming to life and thus The Great EsCake was born.

WHAT IS THE GREAT EsCAKE ALL ABOUT?
​
Wanting to bring my vision to life I always wanted to mix my love for food and pastries together and create really dainty desserts and stunning finger foods. I absolutely love doing bite sized items and the people who follow me have probably noticed the trend. Not only is it good for avoiding wastage as I noticed this time and time again, but it also allows you to appreciate the flavours behind each bite.

I have tried to perfect all my recipes as much as I can and I try to perfect bringing it to bite sizes and work as much as I can with seasonal fruits and veggies as my menus always change slightly year round.
​
Working around restaurants I noticed that there were hardly any gourmet/fine dining halaal eat outs. We are lucky enough to have people come out with their talents and do pop ups etc that give us a chance to try out foods that we never thought we'd get a chance to taste. Likewise I took whatever I learned and tried my best to provide from simple to fancy halaal cuisine that people would not have to pay an arm and leg for but could get it at an affordable price and help people experience restaurant quality products.
